Vancouver College Of Massage Therapy

VCMT is (you guessed it) a Vancouver based College for massage therapy. I was tasked with rebuilding their old, unwieldy website, to fit with their rebrand. The challenge? They wanted to also separate their student massage clinic—The Mend—into it’s own similar brand and website. I needed to maintain the SEO work that had been done, while also helping to guide which pages and content should separate and which should stay.

Refreshing The UX For Prospective Students.

Before this redesign, the VCMT site was separated into many short pages. So, if you would like information on one of their programs, you may have had to click through 5 sub pages. With this build, I opted to combine those into one large, sectioned page with sticky sidebar navigation. This helped to reduce the number of unnecessary pages while also giving students a much simpler navigation experience throughout the website.

The Mend

A New Site For Their Student Clinic

One of the biggest challenges with this project was the separation between VCMT and The Mend. Previously, a singular site held the info for both, and my task was to separate the two under new branding. Thankfully, the brand guidelines were nearly identical, and the site was requested to be similar. The largest struggle and accomplishment with this piece of the project was a grand collection page of many current students at The Mend. Patrons complained they couldn’t preview the students they would sign up with beforehand, and I built a large modal-based repository to address this.
